Boucheron Diamond and Sapphire Bracelet

Frederic Boucheron was born into a family of clothiers. And even though he opted to take a different path, he still was able to incorporate the same delicately fluid craftsmanship into his jewelry as his father and grandfather might have into a fine garment. It was for this reason that Frederic was able to eventually open what would be the first great jewelry boutique on place Vendôme in 1893, and also why his work would be commissioned and admired by royalty the world over in the decades that followed. Czars, maharajahs, and queens all clamored for the treasures of the celebrated Parisian jeweler and his descendants (a tiara made for British society maven Margaret Greville was eventually inherited by the Queen Mother in 1942, and it remains in the royal family to this day).

This stunning Boucheron bracelet from the late 1930s is a late Art Deco marvel from the late Machine Age. Its bold geometry instantly conjures images of the very first skyscrapers and Fritz Lang’s oft-referenced vision of the future in his landmark film Metropolis. The exquisite combination of yellow gold, intense blue sapphires, and no less than twenty baguette cut diamonds makes for the sort of piece that one might have seen bouncing around on the wrist of a jazz singer at legendary Manhattan nightclubs like The Cotton Club, the Copacabana, or Cafe Society.

As an added treat this stunning bracelet was found in its original box. A true collectors prize.
